In tough economic times, school music programs are often the first things cut - and this year is no different. Tween idol Nick Jonas has joined forces with www.DoSomething.org and The VH1 Save the Music Foundation in a campaign to save music education. He is kicking off the Battle of the Bands campaign on Thursday February 4th at 9pm ET on VH1 to see the winners from this fall's Save Our Music campaign and the debut of Nick's PSA (public service announcement) for Battle of the Bands. The PSA will run as part of the Pepsi Fan Jam concert before the SuperBowl (we blogged about Justin Bieber joining this show earlier).
The Battle of the Bands campaign will run from March 1st through April 16th, and YOU will be able to submit your videos of your own musical performances telling him why music education matters to you!
You can join Mr. Jonas and sign up for the mailing list on Save Our Music to get all the updates.
