What Is Your Inauguration Personality?

Now that 'tweens have a bona fide Inaugural event (the Kids Inaugural Concert on January 19th at the Verizon Center; see our post below), Ms. Twixt wants to know: what is your inauguration personality?
Vote in our Poll!
Which outfit would you choose to wear to the Kids Inaugural Concert? Are you:
- Sparkly and bright like Elle in Legally Blonde (red, white and blue sequinned dress)?
- Tailored and elegant like Taylor in HSM (red and chocolate gown)?
- Sophisticated and regal like Mia in the Princess Diaries (red and gold plaid ballgown)?
- Modern and edgy like Bella in Twilight (black sequinned dress)?
- All your own (post your dress sketch to the Twixt Facebook Page)?

Kids Inaugural Concert: We Are the Future (but No Tickets Are Available)

Ms. Twixt has just learned that contrary to initial reports, tickets for the Kids Inaugural: We Are the Future, a concert featuring the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, and Demi Lovato, will NOT be available for the public. The Presidential Inaugural Committee will be distributing tickets only to military families via the Department of Defense (DOD). We hope that, for girls' sakes, these tickets do not end up being sold on eBay and Craigslist for hundreds of dollars. Malia and Sasha Obama, huge fans of these Disney Channel stars, will be attending the concert, and it hosted by Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden. If you go, please send us pics to post!

Kids Inaugural Concert Just Announced for Jan. 19

Breaking news: Announced today, Jan. 13th, President Elect Obama to Hold Free Inaugural Concert for Youth. Ms. Twixt just saw this press release, and here's what the Washington Post has on its blog:
Kids will rock at President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee announced today that a free concert for children will be held at the Verizon Center on Jan. 19, the night before Obama gets sworn in and later treks down Pennsylvania Avenue for the inaugural parade.

Tickets will be required. The committee will release more information about how to get them in the coming weeks. The lineup of acts is pending.

Ms. Twixt understands that tickets to this concert will be free. Watch this space for more info. Musical performances for the Kids' Inaugural event include the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Bow Wow. Billy Ray Cyrus, Keke Palmer, and Usher Raymond IV are also scheduled to appear. 13-year-old Perry Rubin, daughter of entertainment reporter Sam Rubin, will be the special backstage correspondent.

Ms. Twixt's Fashion Recos For the First Daughters

All eyes will be on the First Family in January, and Ms. Twixt extends a very warm welcome to the First Daughters. Now that the girls are settled at Sidwell, the question of what to wear on Inauguration Day must be addressed. Ms. Twixt has the answer for Malia and Sasha: sweet but stunning dresses from Hawaiian designer “Little Attitudes” (How perfect is it that the designer is from Mr. Obama's home state?!). While this designer now makes dresses only in women’s sizes and no longer sells dresses for girls, Ms. Twixt recognized a great thing when she saw it and purchased their remaining inventory of girls' dresses when she opend the store. These one-of-a-kind, handmade dresses are unique, age-appropriate, and incredibly fun to wear - exactly what any girl would want to wear to an Inaugural Ball, don't you think?
We would love to know your thoughts: please post your comments here on Ms. Twixt's recommendation for the White House Tweens.

Children's Inaugural Events Announced

Ms. Twixt has just learned of two kids' inaugural events: the Children's Inaugural "Ball" (not a ball, at all; more of a day of activities) and MTV's Be The Change Inaugural Ball. Both events are on January 18th, and there are very few details thus far. The Every Child Matter's event is free but sold-out. There is a waiting list on their website, but odds are good at being able to attend because it is unlikely that folks who did already get tickets will stay for the entire 5 hours. No info as yet on the MTV event tix.

The link to the Every Child Matter's event is here, and the link to Service Nation to sign up for news and possibly tickets for the MTV event is here and the MTV press release.
