New "Stomp Out Bullying" Video From Mean Girls 2

Did you catch the "Mean Girls 2" movie on ABC Family earlier this week? The made-for-TV movie has been critically panned, but the anti-bullying PSA coming out of it has been well-received. "Mean Girls 2" star Meaghan Martin (of Camp Rock fame) is also in the PSA; she recorded the video for StompOutBullying.org (as did Demi Lovato in 2009). BTW, the 8th annual No Name Calling Week is January 24-28, 2011.

Jennifer Stone also stars in the movie, and poor reviews aside, we thought Ms. Martin's minimal make-up and low-maintenance wardrobe was a refreshing and positive change-of-pace.

Great Interview With the New Star of Camp Rock 2, Chloe Bridges

A great interview with the new star of Camp Rock 2, Chloe Bridges in today's NYPost. She talks about what it's like to play Nick Jonas' girlfriend (cue: tweens swooning) and working with an all-star cast.

Camp Rock 2 premieres tonight on Disney Channel at 8pm EDT.

Tween Toothpaste Line and Alyson Stoner

A new line of toothpaste, tooth brushes and floss has been developed for tweens called ProHealth for ME. Just in time for back to school, Crest and Oral-B had partnered with Alyson Stoner (of CampRock and Step It Up 3D) to launch the line and teach tweens about good oral health. The toothbrushes are sized for smaller mouths (for tweens ages 8 to 12) (and work well with braces!), and the toothpaste flavors are less strong than traditional mint flavors. We haven't tried this new line yet, but post your review here if your tween tries it!

Tween Celebs at Tween Town Hall in LA March 13

Ally Katzz' Tween Town Hall (a follow-up to the Tween Summit held in DC last October) convenes for the afternoon tomorrow at UCLA, and several tween celebrities have signed up to attend, including Demi Lovato's little sister Madison de la Garza and Anna Maria Perez de la Tagle (from Camp Rock and Fame).

As at the Summit, tween girls will discuss issues important to them, including community service and ways to make an impact. For a great take on what the Tween Town Hall promises, check out the post on our friend Shaping Youth's blog. And another of our friends, Rosalind Wiseman, is also speaking. Should be a great afternoon!

Taking the Hogwarts Express to Camp Rock

Camp Rock star Meaghan Martin is also a HUGE Harry Potter fan! She just posted this video of her at the famous Platform 9 and 3/4 in London.
You too can try to push the trolley car through to Platform 9 and 3/4 - the entrance is at London's King Cross Tube station.

Cooler Than Camp Rock

Ok - so you thought Camp Rock was cool? Think you could do as well as Mitchie? Well, here's your chance: Girls Rock DC is arriving this August!!

GR!DC is a week-long camp for girls ages 8-18. During the camp, girls will receive coaching on electric guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, turntables, and vocals. Campers will form bands, collaborate to write an original song and then perform in a GR!DC Showcase at DC’s 9:30 Club. There will also be workshops on gender and cultural identity, band merchandising and promotion, conflict resolution, and other skills young women need to take over (the world of rock)!

Ms. Twixt thinks that this organization is seriously cool and urges you to check it out and support GR!DC.
