Who we are:
Twixt is all about what's new, cool and positive for tween girls (ages 7-12) and their parents. By day (or in digital speak, IRL), MsTwixt runs the digital practice of an agency and is mother of three tween-age girls and a baby boy. She earned her MBA from Yale and makes her living advising Fortune 500 companies on social media and digital strategy. (She doesn't make any money writing this blog.) She used to own a storefront in Washington, DC which opened in 2007 to rave reviews and was selected in 2009 and 2008 as Nickelodeon’s Parents’ Pick for both “Best Big Kids Clothing Store” and “Best Big Kids Shoe Store” and as DC Living magazine’s “Best of 2008 Style”. (The store was a victim of the Great Recession of 2009.) MsTwixt has worked with hundreds of tweens and their parents on issues such as digital literacy, cyberbullying, self-confidence, and girl power and is a thought-leader on tweens and tween parenting. She has written as "MsTwixt" since 2007 to protect the innocent - that is, her kids.
Twixt has been featured in Daily Candy Kids, the Washington Post, and Southern Living Magazine among many others.
You can reach MsTwixt via email at MsTwixt[at]gmail[dot]com or @MsTwixt on Twitter.
What we do:
MsTwixt writes this blog (all about what's new and cool for tween girls), the Examiner's DC Tweens newspaper column, and hosts events for tweens in and around the D.C. area (she recently sponsored the National Tween Summit). Twixt also hosts sweet candy-themed parties for birthdays, bat mitzvahs, graduations, and more (see our gallery for more info). Twixt has been featured in Daily Candy Kids for Best Birthday Party Ideas. For more information on Treats By Twixt or to schedule your next event, please email us at info@shoptwixt.com You can also see some really cool videos appropriate for both tweens and their parents on our YouTube channel.
MsTwixt maintains a monthly calendar with everything cool for tweens on this blog (see the column on the right), and you can also find her Tweeting regularly and on Facebook. You can find MsTwixt writing on Technorati, YPulse, and Shaping Youth in addition to her regular column on "Tweens in DC" in the Examiner.
